A sophisticated rye whiskey cocktail that takes inspiration from the Manhattan, introducing the bitter herbaceous notes of Cynar for a compelling balance.

Ingredients

• 2 oz Rye Whiskey
• 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
• 0.5 oz Cynar
• 1 piece Orange Peel (optional)

Method

1. Combine rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, and Cynar in a mixing glass with ice.
2. Stir until well-chilled, about 30 seconds.
3. Strain into a chilled coupe.
4. Express the oil from an orange peel over the drink and drop it in as a garnish.
