Liberal Cocktail

A complex pre-Prohibition cocktail, a rye whiskey base enhanced by sweet vermouth, a bitter orange liqueur, and orange bitters.

Ingredients

• 2 oz Rye Whiskey
• 0.75 oz Sweet Vermouth
• 0.25 oz Amer Picon
• 2 dash Orange Bitters
• 1 piece Lemon Twist (optional)

Method

1. Combine rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, Amer Picon, and orange bitters in a mixing glass with ice.
2. Stir until well-chilled.
3. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
4. Garnish with a lemon twist.
