An exquisite 19th-century gin cocktail, it elevates the spirit with maraschino liqueur, absinthe, bitters, and a touch of sweetness, presenting a complex and aromatic profile.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Old Tom Gin
- 0.25 oz Maraschino Liqueur
- 1 dash Absinthe
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
- 0.25 oz Simple Syrup
- 1 piece Lemon Peel (optional)
Method
- Combine gin, maraschino liqueur, absinthe, Angostura bitters, and simple syrup in a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir until well-chilled, about 30 seconds.
- Strain into a chilled rocks glass over a large ice cube.
- Express the oils from a lemon peel over the drink and drop it in as a garnish.
