Aperol Old Fashioned Twist

A spirit-forward cocktail that reimagines the classic Old Fashioned with Aperol's bittersweet character complementing the warmth of bourbon.

Ingredients

• 2 oz Bourbon
• 1 oz Aperol
• 0.25 oz Simple Syrup
• 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
• 1 Orange Peel (optional)

Method

1. Combine bourbon, Aperol, simple syrup, and Angostura bitters in a mixing glass with ice.
2. Stir until well-chilled and properly diluted (about 30 seconds).
3. Strain over a large ice cube (or fresh ice) in a rocks glass.
4. Express the oils from an orange peel over the drink, then drop it in as a garnish.
